Blacktail Events was founded by two local families with deep roots in Kent, Ohio—a city that shaped who we are. For us, opening this venue was more than starting a business; it was an intentional investment back into the place we grew up, became friends, and found community.
Inspired by Kent’s iconic black squirrel, our downtown space was thoughtfully designed for gatherings both big and small.

Born and raised in Kent, Coreena knows the power of community. By day, she’s an intervention specialist for Kent City Schools. She brings care, intention, and a touch of magic to creating spaces where meaningful moments unfold.
Kegan Wise
Runs the Books
Also a Kent native, Kegan is Coreena’s brother, Reed’s best friend, and Libby’s husband—read that again! After nearly a decade in manufacturing, he and his family now call Columbus home. He’s excited to bring a new gathering space to Kent and put his operations expertise to work behind the scenes. He can’t wait to welcome you in (and celebrate with you).
Libby Wise
Tells the Story
Libby is happiest when she’s with family and friends, so she feels lucky to take on this venture alongside people she loves. She can already picture the celebrations that will take place in the space, and looks forward to sharing how Blacktail Events came to be. For her 9-to-5, Libby works in client services at a marketing agency, blending strategy and storytelling to help brands connect with the right people.
